Houston Justice text messaging program

Houston Justice sends optional informational and promotional text messages for its programs, including Register Houston, Audacity Ideas Festival, Houston Honors / Power 100, Nonprofit Launch Camp, Live From The Black House, and related Houston Justice activities.

Messages you choose

Informational messages may include inquiry follow-up, volunteer assignments, application and nomination updates, scheduling, event confirmations and reminders, and nonpartisan voter education. Promotional messages may include program opportunities, festival and speaker news, ticket releases, publications, podcast episodes, fundraising, and organizational updates.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to enroll in the Houston Justice SMS program. By opting in, you confirm that you are 18 or older and control the mobile number you provide.

Optional consent

To subscribe, enter your own mobile number in the Text Updates form and actively check the consent box for each message category you want. The informational and promotional choices are separate and start unchecked. Entering a mobile number, submitting an inquiry, or registering for an event does not by itself give SMS consent. Consent is not a condition of purchase, donation, or program participation.

Frequency and costs

Message frequency varies based on the categories you select and your participation. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan. Contact your carrier for details.

How to stop messages

Reply STOP to any Houston Justice text to opt out. You may receive a single confirmation of your opt-out; no further messages will be sent unless you opt in again. To rejoin, submit the signup form again with the relevant consent choice selected.

Delivery

Text delivery depends on your carrier and device. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. You are responsible for providing a mobile number you control and notifying us if it changes.

See our Privacy Policy for how we handle information. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in data and consent are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

We may update this program and these terms. Revisions will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
