Shaping Justice in Harris County: Join Us in Meeting Both DA Candidates

Shaping Justice in Harris County: Join Us in Meeting Both DA Candidates

As Harris County approaches a critical election, Houston Justice is excited to announce a unique opportunity for our community. On September 16, we'll be hosting separate meetings with both candidates for Harris County District Attorney: lunch with Republican nominee Dan Simons and dinner with Democratic nominee Sean Teare.

Why These Meetings Matter

The role of District Attorney is pivotal in shaping our local justice system. As the chief prosecutor for Harris County, the DA:

  1. Sets prosecution priorities

  2. Influences criminal justice reform

  3. Works to ensure public safety

  4. Advocates for crime victims

  5. Manages a large team handling thousands of cases annually

In essence, the DA's decisions impact everything from public safety to social equity in our community.

Our Nonpartisan Commitment

At Houston Justice, we're committed to nonpartisan civic engagement. By meeting with both Mr. Simons and Mr. Teare, we aim to:

  • Provide equal opportunities for all candidates to engage with our community

  • Help our members make informed decisions

  • Create spaces for diverse viewpoints to be shared and understood

Our approach reflects our belief that effective community representation requires dialogue across party lines.

The Power of Your Participation

These meetings on September 16 offer a valuable chance to:

  • Engage in direct dialogue with the candidates

  • Understand each candidate's vision for the DA's office

  • Communicate what issues matter most to our community

Your participation can help shape the future of justice in Harris County.
